When I last met Nicola and Ben we had planned for a lovely, Springtime, cherry blossom filled engagement session…and that’s when things went sideways. For those of you that know this part of the world well, you’ll know we rarely get snow, but on this particular day Vancouver decided to get frosty and so we, in turn, thought it best to make the most of it: you can check out their snowy session HERE. But none of us were fully satisfied…not that we didn’t love the images (who doesn’t love LOVE in the snow?), but it’s not exactly indicative of Vancouver and, as these two hale from the faraway land of New Zealand, we all wanted them to take home a piece of true Van-coastal goodness. So we said, “let’s do it again when it turns warm.” Great! Good idea! And then every time we tried to reschedule the weather decided to be VERY Vancouver and rained us out.
Finally the pieces aligned. We were all in town, the weather was beyond beautiful, Ben & Nicola rented the cutest darned car I’ve ever seen and we headed out to that most essential of Vancouver experiences, Stanley Park and its beautiful 3rd Beach. Sigh….perfection.
Ben & Nicola, I can’t tell you how glad I am that we found each other, that we kept on trying until we nailed it, and that we both have memories of snow and sun to share. I wish you both all the best and wish so, SO much that I was in New Zealand when you do get married. I want to see pictures!!
