Last December I got a really nice early Christmas present: I was invited along to shoot a wedding in Sussex with one of my favourite fellow photographers, Matt Jones – aka Lucius Fox Photography. I have to say, this was one of the most extraordinary weddings I’ve seen to date – part traditional and part fabulously cool. The bride was gorgeous; the groom beyond dashing; the details of floral arrangements, transport, and even stemware were exquisite; and the double teepee set upon the family farm was breathtaking. Honestly, it felt like moving through a dream all day long.
This was a very different experience for me as well in that I hadn’t met anyone connected with the wedding, beyond Matt of course. Usually I have a deep connection with our couples, one that often extends into long lasting friendships long after the wedding day has come and gone. This was unusual – I was truly a fly on the wall watching not only an amazing wedding happen around me, but getting to watch Matt in his element, and let me tell you, he is one of the fastest, hardest working photographers I’ve seen in action, flawlessly blending social and professional. Thanks again Matt – happy to be along anytime you have space!
For now, here’s a peek into a beautiful day, a gorgeous couple, and a wedding I’ll remember for a long, long time.
