I am going to start by saying that I am not a boudoir photographer. That’s not an excuse, it’s a simple fact. There are some photographers that specialise in the subject and have perfected this craft. They are a constant source of inspiration to me when it comes to viewing the female form. I, on the other hand, see people. I think it’s my strongest attribute when holding the camera – it’s the question that drive me…who ARE you? And how do I convey what it is that I see in you through the lens and into the final creation?
It was with those questions in mind that I decided to line up my first full day of glamour/boudoir shoots. Together with an amazingly talented make-up artist (Melissa Weselake) and gifted hair stylist (Destiny Frieson) we spent the day celebrating four beautiful women. I am now completely in L.O.V.E. with shooting boudoir. It was amazing to let the femininity flow and watch these ladies transform out of their self-conscious selves into the sexy, confident and beautiful woman inside. Each of them was an absolute pleasure to shoot; unique, lovely, funny, serious, creative, shy, playful – I saw it all.
I am not a boudoir photographer: I’m just a photographer who sees people. And I would be thrilled to be able to do this again, and again, and again. To the ladies who were brave enough to bare yourselves and be our models, thank you all SO much! You are all beautiful!! To Melissa and Destiny – we make a pretty good team girls! You can be my photo wing women any day!
ps – I wish I could show you more of the images, but given the nature of the photography I am honouring the clients requests for privacy. The images below are used with full permission.
