Do you believe in serendipity? In a sequence of events that just seems to fall into place and make for some truly magical moments? I do. Even more so now. You see, last year James and I went to LA on a family vacation – my BFF is a food stylist there and, as most of you know, in between the weddings I shoot food commercially, so we were there to hang out, eat good food, photograph good food, and basically explore the cali-food scene as much as possible. But I got restless. I missed my couples and wanted to have some human time in front of the lens, so I put out a call for engaged peeps to come forward as models for some concepts I was dreaming up. I figured I would get a chance to add some LA locations to the repertoire and in exchange they’d get to have some images. I shot three couples that week, one of which was Jennifer and David.
I fell in love with these two immediately. They’re crazy – and I LOVE them, for it. No really…everything about them is larger than life (check out their engagement photos HERE to see what I mean), so when they contacted us to come back down again the following year and be their official photographers, well I was beyond excited. I knew this was going to be an incredible wedding, and I wasn’t wrong. Set in the beautiful location of The Verandas Manhattan Beach, this one had it all: gorgeous bride, dashing groom, amazing cast of characters and beautiful details throughout. Sigh….we didn’t went to leave, the wedding could have gone for days and we’d have been thrilled. But sadly, the party had to come to an end, and the next day we packed up and headed North. A few weeks later and we’re still dreaming of California and all the wonderfulness that we experienced while there.
Jenn and David, we can not thank you enough for including us in such an amazing display of love. We’re truly honoured to have been a part of your day and we’ll carry these memories with us for a long, long time to come. Here’s a peek at a few of the highlights from your day through our eyes. We hope to meet again on sunny shores sometime soon.
